
Agent Earns New Professional Designation CPCU
Jeff Harrison has been awarded the professional insurance designation Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU®) by The Institutes. This announcement was made by Peter L Miller, CPCU president and chief executive officer. The Institutes are an educational organization that confers the CPCU designation on persons who complete eight rigorous courses and examinations and meet its ethics and experience requirements. All CPCUs are required to maintain and to improve their professional knowledge, skills and competence through their commitment to The Institutes’ CPCU Code of Professional Conduct.
Jeff is vice president of Harris Insurance and has been an agent since 2005. He is licensed in property and casualty as well as life and health. This is the fifth advanced insurance designation he has earned during his career. In addition to the CPCU, he holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) and the Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA) designations. He holds four business degrees, A.A., A.A.S., B.B.A., and M.B.A, as well as multiple insurance certifications in areas such as long term care, flood insurance, marketing and agency management. He is a nationally accredited instructor for personal lines insurance with the Risk and Insurance Education Alliance (formerly known as the National Alliance for Insurance Education) and is certified to teach personal lines courses throughout the country. He is married to Dr. Lee Harrison, Dean of Advancement for Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College and they live in Cumberland with their son, Blake. Congratulations Jeff!
